In 2005, the Credit Union Employee Healthcare Pool was established to fill the existing void in the healthcare industry. Credit Unions were facing challenges with inconsistencies in renewal rates, network stability with hospitals and doctors as well as the unknown landscape of healthcare reform. The CUEHP has embedded key components of the Affordable Care Act.

The Credit Union Employee Healthcare Pool is a group of Utah credit unions that saw the need for pooling risk, services and compliance among a large network of credit union employees. Through effective pooling and underwriting, our member credit unions reduce healthcare expenses, improve carrier performance and meet regulatory requirements by delivering quality network and physician options at negotiated rates. The concentration of credit unions is in Utah and the pool has approximately 20 participating credit unions representing approximately 1,825 participants.
